'Black Rock House was built for Charles Hotson Ebden, construction probably commencing in 1856. The slate-roofed house, tee-shaped in plan, is constructed with brick gable end walls and weatherboard infill walls. Very slender cast iron tuscan colums support the encircling scottish-stone paved verandah.
